Hospital Grade Television Division of Remar is Expanding their Team

Lebanon, TN: Today, Remar, Inc.’s Television Division, a division of Remar that focuses on supplying hospitals with hospital and commercial grade televisions, is excited to welcome Darrell Leftwich to the team. Leftwich joins Remar as Vice President of Sales – Strategic Accounts, and will be responsible for managing and serving key national account groups.

Leftwich has over 35 years of experience serving the nation’s largest healthcare systems. He joins Remar, Inc. after 23 years with TeleHealth, most recently in the capacity of Director of Sales, National Accounts-Acute Care. He managed the HealthTrust Purchasing Group account serving member groups including HCA, Community Health Systems, Lifepoint Health, Quorum Health Corporation, Quorum Health Resources, Iasis Healthcare, Catholic Health and others.  He also served Encompass Health, formerly Healthsouth based in Birmingham, Al. He has been recognized with numerous awards over the years and will be a valuable asset to the Remar team.

Remar to Acquire Prospect’s Packaging and Fulfillment Business

December 1, 2016

Prospect, a non-profit that provides support services to individuals with disabilities, announced in Mid-November that they are closing their packaging and fulfillment work center effective November 30th.  Remar is excited to announce that it is assuming Prospect’s packaging and fulfillment accounts and will be hiring several of Prospect’s employees whose positions have been eliminated.

As the state of Tennessee calls to close sheltered workshops, with the hopes of integrating people with disabilities into inclusive work environments, Prospect made the decision to close their work center. They have decided to focus their efforts on Prospect’s employment, day service, residential, and child development programs.

Remar, an industry-leading warehousing, fulfillment and packaging organization, who has had a long-standing working relationship with Prospect, is acquiring Prospect’s work center customers and a number of employees effective December 1.

Much of the day to day operations will remain the same, however, there will be some changes, for example bringing in a state-of-the-art warehouse management system to help run the operations.

When the opportunity to assume Prospect’s customers and hire their team members arose, Remar felt it was a perfect fit.  Diversity is important to Remar as a minority owned business.  The opportunity to expand our workforce to incorporate people with disabilities is another way to become a more inclusive organization and support the community at the same time

This is a win for everyone. Prospect’s customers will see very little change in the operations and there will be a seamless transition from Prospect to Remar. Many of Prospect’s employees will continue to do the work they have been trained in and are skilled at without fear of losing their employment. Prospect will get to focus on their mission and finding competitive employment that pays at least minimum wage for people with disabilities in the Lebanon area. And, Remar is expanding not only its business but is becoming an even more inclusive organization.

Remar, Inc. Appoints Director of Business Development, Healthcare and Hospitality

Remar, Inc. announces the appointment of Kevin Kolff as Director of Business Development, Healthcare and Hospitality. His diverse range of experience includes the healthcare and hospitality industries, appliances and electronics, and the restaurant industry.

Kolff had previously served as Director of National Accounts for Alliance Energy Solutions in Oxford, CT, and he more recently ran his own business, Hockey Plus, a hockey equipment store located in Nashville, TN. As Director of National Accounts for Alliance, Kolff managed the sales team and was responsible for establishing healthcare industry product strategies that generated sales growth of more than $8 million in less than two years.

Prior to his position at Alliance, he served in multiple roles for nearly a decade at W.W. Grainger in Nashville, TN. Grainger is a Fortune 500 company that sells more than 1 million industrial products for facility management.

Joining Grainger as a Customer Service Manager in 1999, he was responsible for the daily operation of a regional call center and master shipping branch. He was promoted to Branch Manager in 2001, and in 2002 was responsible for growing branch sales in excess of $7 million.

He served as Grainger’s Healthcare Account Manager from 2004-2006, establishing key relationships with healthcare purchasing groups and major hospital networks. By 2005, he had exceeded his sales goals by almost 26%. He was promoted to Healthcare Corporate Sales Manager in 2006, and was responsible for managing sales for a seven-state region. He created and negotiated contracts with key hospital networks and healthcare Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and was recognized as Top Corporate Sales Manager in 2006 and 2007.

As Regional Operations Manager for Circuit City from 1997-1999, Kolff managed nearly 40 employees who were responsible for repairing and refurbishing consumer electronics and appliances. During that time, he was recognized by his peers as National Manager of the Year.

Kolff began his sales and management career in 1992 at Taco Bell Corporation, managing eight high-volume Nashville stores as a Multi-Unit Manager, and transitioning to Market Training Manager where he trained and developed store managers and teams. He was named Market Training Manager of the Year in 1996.

At Remar, Kolff will focus on the strategic direction and growth of Remar’s healthcare industry products and services, and work with hospitals and GPO clients to better fulfill their needs. Remar is an approved supplier of exterior and interior signage products for the MedAssets, HealthTrust and Magnet GPOs, and sells HD LCD hospital-grade TVs designed specifically for the healthcare industry. Kolff will also explore new business opportunities in other industries, such as hospitality.

Born in Racine, WI, Kolff moved with his family to Cookeville, TN, at the age of six. He earned a B.A. in Business Management from Tennessee Technological University. He currently resides in Mt. Juliet, TN, with his wife and children. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking—smoking ribs, brisket and shoulders, as well as creating his own signature dish, Parmesan crusted chicken.
